Holy Cow! I am just kind of in shock right now. For about 3-4 years I have been working on a book called “The Runaway Beard”. The book was inspired by a conversation my brother and I had, and the next day I illustrated a picture of The Runaway Beard. I have had hopes to publish it as soon as I finished illustrating it and putting it together.
For fun, I googled “The Runaway Beard” out of curiosity to see if anyone had shared my illustrations (I’ve posted them on my blog and website) and lo and behold, there was your book! You beat me to it!
I thought I was being so clever!
Anyways, I will have to pick it up. It looks awesome. And now I have to figure out a different title for my book!

ds November 24, 2011 at 7:32 AM: Good luck! Would love to send you a copy but it’s out of print. The book came out some years ago, and it had a fake beard on the cover. Kids could take it out and play with, Sadly it is now out of print. But hope you find one. I loved the work of the illustrator, Marc Rosenthal.
